About Leominster, MA
Leominster is the second largest city in Worcester County, Massachusetts. Located north of Worcester and 42 miles west of Boston, Routes 2 and Interstate 190 pass through Leominster and several other routes, making the city easily accessible. It is also a stop on the MBTA commuter rail line from Fitchburg to Boston. Leominster is the birthplace of Johnny Appleseed. It is also known for its place in the history of the plastics industry, being named “Pioneer Plastics City.” The plastic pink flamingo lawn ornament was invented in Leominster. While the plastics industry has faded, the city has a solid commercial base to support its residential community. Leominster has a vibrant downtown, many public parks, and recreational activities. Residents have access to the newly renovated Leominster High School and many public parks and recreational activities.
