About Uxbridge, MA
Uxbridge is in Worcester County, Massachusetts, located 16 miles Southeast of Worcester, 20 miles Northwest of Providence, and 46 miles Southwest of Boston. Route 146 connects to Worcesters’ Interstate 290 and Interstate 95 at Providence. Uxbridge marks the center of the Blackstone Valley Heritage Corridor, known for America’s earliest industrialization for textiles; power looms for woolens and manufacturing of clothing and military uniforms. The first Air Force Dress Uniform, “Uxbridge Blue,” was made in Uxbridge. Today, Uxbridges’ economy is driven by service, technology, and distribution companies employing area residents. For example, BJ’s Wholesale Club has a 600,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Uxbridge. The public high school is Uxbridge High School.
