Fall 2017 Marks Our 80th Year in Business

Achieving this milestone of longevity, we look back at and appreciate all that has resulted in our success and gotten us to this point… customers, employees, family, and insurance company partners. It has been the trust and relationships built that have made all the difference, and we are grateful.

The insurance industry has changed significantly over the years, and at an even faster pace over the past decade. Murphy Insurance continues to embrace opportunities for growth and renewal. We’re not so much 80 years old as we are 80 years young.

We remain committed to providing the best value in terms of both insurance products and customer care. Over the years, one constant has been our caring about people…their lives and their businesses. This stems from our being part of the community. We’re local. We’re not headquartered far away. Our offices are on main streets in the heart of the community. For us, business is personal.

With the fast-paced world we live in, more and more interactions are done online or by phone, but you can also meet us face-to-face because sometimes you simply want that extra touch when it comes to protecting everything you hold dear.

Whether it’s a quick question, a circumstance that requires reviewing your coverage or the reason for having insurance: a claim, our professionals are ready to assist you and provide support. No question is too small.

We thank all our customers for choosing us. We know that without you we wouldn’t be here. We appreciate your continued patronage.

Thank you!

The Murphy Family and the Murphy Insurance Team

Ice Dams: A Winter Challenge for Homeowners

Read our blog post, Ice Dams: A Winter Challenge for Homeowners for some great tips on preventing ice dams and what to do in the case of ice dams on your roof. Ice dams are more than just an inconvenience—they can cause significant damage to your home. While prevention is the best strategy, ice dams can still form despite your efforts, so having a response plan is crucial. Ice dams occur when attic air warms to above freezing, causing snow on the roof to melt. As the water runs down the roof and reaches the colder edges, it refreezes, creating an ice dam. These dams block water from draining off the roof, causing it to pool and seep under shingles, into the attic, or along exterior walls.
