The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles will be closed from Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 7 p.m. until Monday, March 26, 2018 at 8 a.m. in order to perform a technology and software upgrade required to comply with federal security standards.

All Non-Public Safety Services Are Unavailable, and the RMV Will NOT Process Any Transactions

This Includes:

  • No driver’s license issue or renewal in person or online
  • No issuance of ID cards or learner’s permits
  • No access for vehicle inspections at inspection stations
  • No online services
  • No dealership registrations or inspections on new car purchases
